The Danbury Public School District is looking for speakers fluent in Spanish, Portugese or other languages to serve as interpreters and translators during meetings with parents, guardians, and other visitors and stakeholders across the District, and to provide accurate translations of written materials for distribution. Successful candidates shall demonstrate fluency, proficiency, and accuracy in translating between English and a second language orally and in writing. Candidates must demonstrate an ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality and to maintain a high degree of professionalism at all times under a variety of circumstances. Available assignments for interpreter/translators will be posted daily for successful candidates to select in keeping with personal schedules.
Terms of Employment: As needed, generally for assignments during the student day, in keeping with the District school year calendar. Evening assignments during conference weeks and summer school vacancies also available, as desired.
