    Working Calendar: 900 hours 
    Compensation: 

    Living allowance: $10,000 annually with an additional $3,697.50 education award upon the completion of 900 hours of service (24 hrs weekly). Child care subsidies and healthcare is not available for this option. Program dates as early as August 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026.


    SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
    AmeriCorps members will mentor truant students, provide parent support, recruit community volunteers for their schools, and engage in community outreach to support children and families.

    AmeriCorps members provide additional support to the Family Resource Youth Service Centers within JCPS schools.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    1. High school diploma or GED
    2. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and oral communication skills
    3. Valid driver’s license
    4. Effective communication skills

    Working Calendar: 195 Days/ 7 Hours
    Estimated New Hire Salary Range: $ 50,093.52 - $99,811.27
    As per board approved salary placement rules. 

    Experience credit for this position is based on MHP credentialed experience.  Teaching experience will not count towards steps given for salary placement.

    SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES

    Promotes the mental health wellness of students by assuming responsibility for providing evidence-based interventions at the individual and group level, engaging families, coordinating with community partners, and providing training, collaboration and consultation for school personnel. 

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 
    1. One of the following credentials, licenses, or permits: KY (EPSB) credential in School Social Work, School Counseling, or School Psychology; or Fully Kentucky Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor; or Licensed Clinical Social Worker; or KY Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist; or Licensed Professional Art Therapist; or Kentucky Licensed Clinical Psychologist.
    2. Ability to work well with people
    3. Effective communication skills

    DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: 
    1. Three (3) years successful experience providing mental health and/or behavioral support with school-aged children
    2. Experience in crisis intervention and counseling
    3. Experience working with children exposed to trauma
