Teaching Extra Class Opportunity Details:
· Course Title: French 3 Honors
· Class Period/Day: 2A
· Period of Time: Q4 and into 25/26
· Qualifications:
o Must be a Teacher at Stamford High School
o Certification Required: 018 French, 4–12
Compensation:
For a 0.1 FTE Extra Class Assignment: Stipend equal to 10% of Teacher’s Base Annual Salary.
For a 0.2 FTE Extra Class Assignment: Stipend equal to 20% of Teacher’s Base Annual Salary.
Note: The stipend is pensionable if the additional class is being taught for the entire school year or semester.
* Special Education Extra Class Assignments may be terminated mid-year if the position is able to be filled with an external candidate.
Union:
Stamford Education Association (SEA)
Salary: $52,922 to $128,332
Step Placement is based on education and experience as outlined in Article 4(D) of the SEA Contract.

General Statement:
A competent Foreign Language Teacher understands growth and development, demonstrates knowledge of what is to be taught and facility in the basic skills and helps students to develop positive self-concepts. The Foreign Language Teacher stimulates the independence of each student as a learner, effectively assesses student needs and progress, and plans instruction to achieve selected objectives, including those appropriate for exceptional students. The Foreign Language Teacher accomplishes these objectives through effective communication with students, parents and colleagues, and through the use of appropriate techniques and materials in a positive climate where time, space and equipment are effectively organized for instruction. In addition, the Foreign Language Teacher meets professional responsibility for continuing growth and fosters cooperative involvement with parents and the community.

Note: Teachers dually certified in TESOL, Bilingual Education or ESL, with experience in Sheltered Instruction or fluency in a language other than English, will be given preference for all Stamford Public School positions.
