Waterbury Public Schools is seeking 1 regular education high school teacher and 1 special education high school teacher for an exciting new program, Prosper for Success Academy. We seek to:
Address immediate and serious behavior safety concerns across WPS
Support students in a virtual and in-person setting to ensure access to academics and social/emotional health systems
Successfully identify students eligible to be referred to the Prosper for Success Academy
Address the challenge of severe behavior and conduct issues exhibited by some students in grades 9-12 in the Waterbury Public Schools through the Prosper to Success academy program which will provide students students with access to:
their instructional/academic needs
small-group therapy targeted to SEL/ behavioral needs
coordination with a social worker
access to a transition specialist to coordinate wrap-around service and/or possibly have access to work-based opportunities.
The academy will be housed at State Street and will operate from Monday through Thursday, with non-traditional hours and instructional delivery. These two assignments will be Monday through Thursday from 1 pm to 8 pm and on Fridays from 11 am to 6 pm.
