    Saskatoon Public Schools is the largest school division in Saskatchewan.     SASKATOON PUBLIC SCHOOLS REQUIRES AN
    Educational Consultant:  Athletics
     
     
     

    Educators within our school division are invited to apply for the position of Educational Consultant: Athletics. This is a full-time position for a four-year term with duties to commence August 25, 2025.
     
    The successful candidate will be expected to:
    • provide leadership in developing, promoting, coordinating and maintaining activities of the S.S.S.A.D. (secondary athletics activities for both the Saskatoon Public and Greater Saskatoon Catholic school divisions) and the S.H.S.A.A. (Saskatchewan High School Athletics Association)
    • organize the elementary school track and cross-country programs, and to oversee the remainder of the elementary athletics program;
    • provide guidance when required on the Division’s out-of-school education programs (i.e. the review of safety guidelines and out of school education guidelines);
    • develop strategic plans and goals on an annual basis including details of workshops and in-services;
    • plan, coordinate, supervise and evaluate the work of support staff reporting to the position.
    • report to the superintendent at determined intervals regarding progress in relation to stated plans and goals and professional learning plans;
    • provide leadership in staff and curriculum development designed to promote educationally sound athletics and out-of-school experiences for students; and
    • work collaboratively and liaison with local and provincial sports bodies and associations.
     
    The successful candidate will have:
    • a valid Saskatchewan teaching certificate;
    • preference will be given to individuals who possess a graduate degree in educational administration, supervision, curriculum, or a field directly related to their work;
    • successful teaching experience at the elementary and/or secondary level and extra-curricular coaching experience;
    • the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with all levels of staff within the school system, with local and provincial organizations; and with a broad cross-section of the local community;
    • strong time management skills and the ability to effectively plan and schedule;
    • strong budgeting and technology skills, including social media capabilities; and
    • a good understanding of local and provincial high school athletic environments.

    Candidates should provide supporting evidence of their expertise in athletics in their application letters. Preference will be given to candidates who have initiated or completed Graduate Studies in a field related to the position.
