
Special Education Teacher – MAPS Program (Hillside Elementary School) Join Eagle Point School District 9 – Leading with Excellence and Innovation Eagle Point School District 9 (EPSD9) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to support students in the
MAPS (Modified Academic Program for Students) program at Hillside Elementary School. This role provides a unique opportunity to

About the Role The Special Education Teacher – MAPS will evaluate, design, and implement specialized instruction tailored to students with disabilities.
This role serves as a member of the Student Services Team and assessment team to support individualized student learning needs.
The teacher will foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment supporting academic and social-emotional growth.
In addition, they will provide leadership in developing special education programs and interventions in collaboration
with staff and families. Ensuring compliance with state and federal special education laws and maintaining accurate
student records and IEP documentation are key responsibilities. The teacher will also support and guide
instructional assistants in delivering effective special education services.
Who We’re Looking For EPSD9 seeks an innovative and student-focused educator committed to ensuring equitable learning opportunities for all students.
The ideal candidate will have a current Oregon Teaching License with an endorsement in Special Education.
Strong collaborative and leadership skills are essential, with a passion for working alongside general education teachers, specialists,
and families. Experience designing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
is highly valued, along with knowledge of special education laws and compliance requirements. Maintaining
a positive, professional, cooperative relationship with students, staff, and families is critical.
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills will contribute to success in this role.

Salary placement is based on the EPSD9 collective bargaining agreement and previous experience.

Placement: Hillside Elementary School, Eagle Point, OR
Supervisor: Principal of Hillside Elementary School
Contract Days: 193/194 days per year / 8 hours per day
Salary Range: $46,548 - $90,846 plus master's stipend of $2,327 (depending upon approved previous experience and graduate level credits).
Special Education Teachers receive a Federal Compliance Stipend of $3,000 each year Includes an excellent benefits package, including 6% PERS retirement "employee contribution" paid by the District, and tuition reimbursement available.
The position will begin in August 2025, with screening to begin immediately.
