Join Eagle Point School District 9 – A Leader in Student-Centered Financial Stewardship

Eagle Point School District 9 (EPSD9) is seeking a highly skilled and strategic financial leader to serve as our Director of Business Services. As a key advisor to the Superintendent
and School Board, this position ensures the fiscal integrity and operational efficiency of our district, supporting student success, staff excellence, and community engagement.

Located in southern Oregon’s beautiful Rogue Valley, EPSD9 serves approximately 3650 students across Eagle Point, White City, and surrounding communities.
Our district blends rural charm with easy access to urban amenities, providing an outstanding quality of life. With a commitment to academic innovation, community,
and financial responsibility, EPSD9 is dedicated to preparing students for college, career, and lifelong learning.

    About the Role
The Director of Business Services provides visionary leadership in financial planning, budget management, the annual financial audit, and district operations.
This role is responsible for budget development and fiscal oversight, leading budget planning and financial forecasting to ensure alignment with district priorities.
It oversees accounting and payroll, maintaining compliance, accuracy, and transparency in all financial operations,
including accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and purchasing.

Managing the financial audit process is a key responsibility, which includes overseeing the fiscal year-end closing process, audit preparation, general ledger reconciliations,
and journal entries, while working directly with financial auditors to prepare audited financial statements. The role also involves grants and resource management,
optimizing funding opportunities, ensuring effective grant administration, and overseeing all state and federal grants.

Risk management and legal compliance are essential aspects of the position, requiring oversight of financial policies, contracts, purchasing, and district property and liability insurance.
The Director supports strategic planning and collective bargaining by contributing to long-term fiscal sustainability and serving as a key member of the contract negotiations team.

This position provides operational leadership by directly supervising all Business Office staff and overseeing department heads for transportation, technology, maintenance/facilities,
and food services. Additionally, the role includes overseeing employee benefits programs, including OEBB health insurance programs.
By ensuring the district’s financial resources are strategically managed, this position plays a crucial role in maximizing support for students, staff, and schools.

    Who We’re Looking For
EPSD9 seeks a collaborative and solutions-driven financial leader who is committed to excellence in education through strong fiscal management and
operational leadership. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field, with a master’s degree preferred.
Experience in school district or public sector finance is essential, with expertise in fund accounting, budgeting, and audits.

Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills are necessary to effectively support district leadership. Candidates must have a working knowledge
of fiscal management, legal matters, risk management, facilities, collective bargaining, technology applications, and school district operations.
Familiarity with Oregon school finance, administration, and Oregon budget law is preferred. Proficiency with financial software, particularly Tyler Infinite Visions, is highly desirable.

A valid Oregon Driver’s License is required. While a CPA license is highly desired, additional certifications such as an SFO or governmental budget
    administrator certification are also preferred.
