Description: To assist in maintaining a safe fleet of vehicles in a cost effective and efficient manner.

Qualifications:
• Experience as a vehicle mechanic, including work experience on heavy trucks (gasoline and diesel).
• Valid Georgia Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class B with P & S endorsement
• Must be able to work shifts as assigned
• Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screening.
• Clean drivers record
• High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge and ability to perform general repairs on automotive and other mechanical equipment
• Ability to use state of the art diagnostic equipment to diagnose and repair vehicles
• Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade
• Ability to follow oral and written instruction
• Ability to maintain records
Performance Responsibilities:
• Inspect and maintain assigned buses and vehicles.
• Fuel vehicles and maintain appropriate oil levels.
• Maintain records as required
• Wash spare and field trip buses
• Maintain bus cameras, digital drives and digital cameras
• Archive bus video records for future reference
• Perform repairs as needed.
• Respond to road calls as needed.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working order.
• Assist in cleaning shop and work area.
• Demonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities
