Position Title:                 Food Service Substitute
Department:                   School Nutrition
Reports To:                    Food Service Manager or Satellite Lead 
 
SUMMARY:  The Food Service Substitute is called to cover an absence and must be available to work at any school.  A Substitute assists in any area of food preparation and service in the school kitchen and cafeteria.   Maintains kitchen and dining area in a safe and sanitary condition, practices excellent customer service and is responsible for understanding the district’s food safety plan and federal and state procedures for claiming meals, including operation of the point of sale system.  May cashier, serve, operate dish room or other duties as assigned.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Other duties may be assigned.
• Reports to work on time
• Follows all established rules and policies
• Understands timeframe for completion of duties and “sense or urgency”
• Prepares food according to food safety plan
• Serves or cashiers as directed
• Sets up and displays serving line in an attractive, clean and efficient manner
• During meal service, may be assigned as server, cashier or dish room operator.
• Maintains health, safety and sanitation standards for staff, students and equipment at all times.
• Responsible for understanding the basic principles by which the School Breakfast and Lunch Programs are operated and keeps up to date on current issues.
• Responsible to ensure that meals are ready to serve at the time(s) established by the building administrator.
• Responsible for maintaining a professional and courteous attitude with fellow employees, building staff and students.
• Practices exceptional customer service.
• Accurately completes HACCP logs.
• Accurately assists in the completion of daily production records.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to become ServSafe® certified
 
LANGUAGE SKILLS
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short printed correspondence and email correspondence
• Ability to write simple correspondence and email
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and employees
• Ability to effectively communicate in spoken English

Title: Summer Maintenance Help

Terms of Employment:
• $13.00 per hour
• 5-8 hours/day
• Approx. June – August (Days and hours may vary.)
Responsibilities: During the summer months, you may perform one or all of the listed tasks:
1. Window washing - Removing dirt and grime from windows and glass surfaces using a non-abrasive glass cleaning solution, water and microfiber cloth to clean around the edges.
2. Painting - Apply various finishes to buildings, rooms or other structures, exterior and interior. Prepares, cleans and tapes all surfaces. Clean area and equipment upon completion.
3. Grounds - Pick up and remove trash and debris from property and dispose of properly. Handle outdoor equipment as far as weed wackers, edge trimmers, leaf blowers and lawn mowers. Also includes raking, mulching and pulling weeds.

Job Goal: 
To apprise, promote, and protect the health and well-being of students and school staff, thereby enabling each to fully benefit from the learning and work environment.
 
Essential Functions:
1. Plan with health services coordinator and building principal to implement the health program for the building.
2. Collaborates with community agencies, health professionals and staff to identify the health needs, current and potential of children and youth to facilitate school and community planning and interventions.
3. Delivery and supervision of care for sick and /or injured students or staff.
4. Implementation of state mandated screenings.  Advise parents of significant findings that need attention and assist them to plan for appropriate care.
5. Monitoring of student health status including documented immunizations, health alerts and health care plans.
6. Health education and counseling in areas related to but not limited to: personal health and safety.
7. Implementation of school health promotion and disease prevention programs;
8. First-aid training and coordination of school based volunteer Emergency Response Teams;
9. Development of individual treatment plans to administer medications and treatments to students per physician’s orders and parent authorization.
10. Maintains records of activities and services, submit any required reports or documentation.
11. Training and supervision of unlicensed assistive personnel delegated to provide health care or education on health related issues.
12. Attends staff meetings and professional development as requested.
13. Set priorities and plan workload independently.
 
Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:
Requires mobility, standing, walking, lifting, pushing, moving, and performing CPR.  Sensory: site, hearing, smell, and touch.  Fast pace environment that requires quick and accurate decisions, excellent communication skills both oral and in writing.  Position encompasses entire building(s) and grounds of the school.  Center of operation is the nurse clinic but must be mobile to all locations including classroom.   Set priorities and plan workload independently.
