Title:                     Substitute Custodian
 
Qualifications:     Experience in custodial/janitorial work                           
 
Job Goal:  To provide students and staff with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean and efficient place in which to learn, play, develop and work.
 
Responsibilities:         
 
1.        Keep building and premises neat and clean at all times.
 
2.        Sweep classrooms and dust furniture.
 
3.        Clean corridors after school and at other times when their condition requires it.
 
4.         Scrub, hose down, and disinfect toilet floors, and clean all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains.
 
5.         Reports major repairs needed promptly to the head custodian or building principal.
 
6.         Reports immediately to the head custodian/principal any damage to school property (inside or out).
 
7.         If appropriate, assume responsibility for the opening and closing of the building each school day.  Before leaving, confirm that all doors and windows are secured, and all lights, except those left on for safety reasons, are turned off. 
 
8.         Comply with local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash, rubbish, and waste.
 
9.          Must be able to work independently to complete assigned tasks.
 
10.        Must be able to bend, reach and lift 50 lbs.
 
11.        Sets up, tears down and cleans after lunch hours and special events, if applicable.
 
12.        Interacts appropriately with students and staff.
 
 
Reports To:
• Building Principal 
 
Terms of Employment: You are applying for a substitute position.  You will be called when a regular custodian is unable to work their regular shift.  Employment will be based on an as needed basis.

Substitute Teacher Job Description
 
Job Goal:    The substitute teacher has the same professional responsibilities that are expected from the regular classroom teacher.  The substitute teacher is expected to maintain high standards as a role model, both in and out of the classroom.
 
Qualifications:
 
• State of Indiana Substitute Teaching Certificate

• A satisfactory criminal background check

• Hold a High School Diploma (must provide Transcripts)

• 21 years of age or separation of 4 years from high school
 
Expectations:
 
• Maintain continuity in the lesson plans of the regular classroom teacher.

• Effectively communicate with students.

• Demonstrate necessary organizational and leadership skills.
