If you’re the type of person who loves a different atmosphere every day, enjoys working with children of all ages, loves being creative and wants to make a difference, those are all the skills you need to be a substitute in our classrooms.

Southern York County School District utilizes the substitute services of The Substitute Teacher Service (STS) for our substitute teachers, paraprofessionals and clerical support staff.  If you are interested in working within SYCSD as a substitute, please contact STS directly.  You can visit their website at www.thesubservice.com for more information or call them at 1-800-884-7827.  

In addition to the substitute positions listed above, SYCSD will be utilizing the newly passed Act 86. The Act allows students enrolled in an accredited Pennsylvania college or university who are currently pursuing teacher certification to participate in a program that would allow them to substitute teach once they have earned 60 credit hours. Substitute Teacher Service has modeled a program that complies with the requirements of the Act.  For more information, please see the attached file.
