Marshall Public Schools serves over 2,700 PK-13 students across eight (8) school buildings throughout the Marshall and Albion communities. Responsibilities shall include program development, marketing, management and oversight. The Pool Coordinator shall be responsible for the overall programming of the pool facility in such a manner to effect a financially self-sustaining operation.
CONTRACT: $7,500
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of a high school diploma
• Current American Red Cross CPR/AED and first aid certification; certification to teach course desired
• Current Water Safety Instruction (WSI) certification
• Current Lifeguard certification or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire date
• Current Certified Pool Operator (CPO)/Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire date
• Proficient Microsoft Office software skills, email and Internet
• Excellent communication (oral, written and listening) and interpersonal relations skills
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: The nature of responsibilities listed is a reflection of the job description
• Hire and oversee assignment and supervision of qualified staff necessary for pool programming
• Handle complaints, questions and concerns related to the pool within the scope of responsibility
• Prepare and perform regular in-service training for lifeguards and instructors including but not limited to health and safety regulations, pool surveillance, responsibility to the public, teaching techniques, equipment use, accident procedures, etc.
• Monitor all mechanical functions of the pool to ensure health and safety standards are maintained
• Promote the utilization of the pool through quality programming, publicity, advertising, etc. to enhance the community's understanding and support
• Prepare a yearly program budget and recommend use fees which meet the cost of the program
• Requisition necessary program equipment and supplies
• Maintain records including but not limited to employee attendance, certification, accident reports, pool reports, time sheets, etc., process forms, collect fees and perform other administrative tasks
• Develop and implement procedures for dealing with the conduct and discipline of participants using the pool facilities within established school district policies
• Perform other duties as assigned
