    POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Technology is responsible for the coordination of technological applications in the administrative operations of the district and for the development, implementation and evaluation of a long range plan for the applications of computers and technology in all district programs, instructional and administrative.
     
    JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 
    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree or degree in computer related field, desired
    • Minimum of five (5) years of direct experience in related technical field, preferred
    • Effective management and supervision techniques
    • Two (2) to five (5) years management experience
    • Organization, planning, and efficient execution of responsibilities, including department budget and other reporting requirements
    • Experience with web-based student information system (PowerSchool), preferred
     
    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: The nature of responsibilities listed is a reflection of the job description
    • Plan, implement and maintain system configuration, LAN, WAN and distance learning operations
    • Provide network administration and technical support for the voice, video and data networks
    • Provide maintenance for all computer hardware or coordinate for these services with outside sources
    • Provide both departmental and building technology team members with training in technical support and troubleshooting
    • Develop an annual evaluation of the district technology programs and make recommendations for system improvements including hardware and software purchases to the Superintendent
    • Coordinate the staff development program in technology
    • Maintain an inventory of all hardware and software for instructional and administrative application
    • Provide leadership and direction with regard to the integration of technology in the classrooms
    • Direct the software acquisition process for all buildings within the district
    • Manage IT ticketing system to track and prioritize support cases
    • Oversight of cybersecurity ensuring measures to protect district data and systems from threats
    • Collaborate with district staff to complete grant-writing efforts and federally funded opportunities such as Universal Service Funds, Technology Literacy grants, local technology initiatives, etc.
    • Maintain the technology budget 
    • Ensure compliance with educational technology standards and privacy regulations
    • Supervise, evaluate, and provide leadership for building a cohesive team within the technology department
    • Occasionally perform any task assigned to subordinate staff
    • Uphold confidentiality of privileged and sensitive student/staff information
    • Serve as a member of the district's leadership team
    • Hold or willing to obtain MSBO Certification - Chief Technology Officer (CTO), desired
    • Perform additional duties as delegated by the Superintendent
     
    GENERAL INFORMATION:
    Salary:  $85,000-$98,000, depending upon experience
