    M-F 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM ; 8 Hrs/Day; 40 Hrs/Week; 52 weeks
    Weekend hours as necessitated

    WAGES:                                 
    $24/hr

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 
    • Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
    • Organized, self-disciplined and capable of performing job duties without constant supervision
    • Demonstrate proficiency in fields of carpentry, plumbing, electric, HVAC/boiler systems and H2O Chemicals
    • Prior experience with general and skilled maintenance is required
    • Must be neat in appearance and able to work well with others
    • Required to have training and/or maintain certification pertaining to asbestos management, routine boiler maintenance, use of herbicides/pesticides, etc.
    • Strong communication (oral and listening) and interpersonal relation skills
     
    SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
    • Complete daily work schedules as assigned by supervisor
    • Perform journey level skilled maintenance for the purpose of resolving immediate operational and/or safety concerns and providing for preventative maintenance
    • Inspect, test and troubleshoot, where applicable, a variety of items dependent on specific trade expertise (motors, boiler controls, heating units, motor valves, ducts, plumbing valves, fixtures, etc.) for the purpose of assessing item functioning and recommending repair or replacement
    • Perform routine general and skilled maintenance work (e.g. roof, welding, cabinetry, electrical, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining facilities in a safe condition enabling full educational use of facilities at all times
    • Complete daily early morning check of the water level, flame control, and circulating pumps of boilers when in operation. Also check on air compressors, belts and pressure.  Clean and overhaul during summer.  Clean all boilers to meet state inspections.
    • Check heat control panel daily and regulate as needed.  Periodically check climate control computer and regulate as needed.
    • Manage pool maintenance – Take water samples daily and test for chlorine and acid content.  Once a week, or as needed, drain the filter tanks and clean the filters.  Back flush.
    • Maintain an inventory of supplies for the pool and for general maintenance repairs
    • Service heaters, all electric motors, air conditioning units, filters, roof ventilators, scoreboards
    • Weekend/Holiday checks
    • Check and maintain generators
    • Work with grounds, custodial and other personnel as appropriate in the performance of specific tasks
    • Respond to emergency situations during and after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns
    • Perform other related duties as directed by supervisor
