    Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate;
    Special Education Endorsement Required;
    Bilingual Preferred;

    Duties/Skills/Qualifications:
    Knowledge of Special Education principals, theories, and assessments as well as instructional methods for improving academic and/or behavioral outcomes for students with disabilities;
    An awareness of varied and innovative teaching techniques of differentiated instruction based on student learning styles;
    High level of planning and organizational skills;
    High level of classroom management skills;
    Knowledge of age appropriate curriculum;
    Create and maintain a positive and safe learning environment with the classroom;
    Ability to communicate effectively and relate positively with students, parents, and school personnel;
    Good attendance and punctuality;
    Ability to work in a diverse environment;
    All other duties as assigned by the administrator;
    Ability to work with student, parents, teachers, and community agencies in a positive manner;
    Ability to relate and work effectively with parents, staff, students, and the public in a multicultural and multiracial community;
    Knowledge and awareness of own cultural identity and how this influences behavior, and desire to learn about the cultural identity of others;
    Ability to establish and nurture an environment that promotes cultural competence and equitable treatment of staff, students, and patrons of the District;
    Ability to recognize that each person is a unique individual even as we celebrate their group cultural heritage;
