Strong classroom management skills needed to teach piano/keyboard lessons.

Accompaniment for school choir, orchestras/band, and individual/small group(s) performances.

Teaches basic piano/keyboard skills to all students assigned to the class; and teaches

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Ten-month position
EVALUATION: Evaluated by the Principal or Designee in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
SALARY: Compensation is based on years of experience and the Teacher Salary Schedule in accordance with the CBA
Supervises students in classroom, hallways, cafeteria, assemblies and during field trips.
Teaches fundamental music theory, including rhythm, melody, harmony, and notation.
Introduces students to diverse musical genres and historical periods.
Prepares students for class assessments and musical performances.
Selects/arranges musical pieces appropriate for middle school students.
Manages musical instruments and equipment.
Assesses student progress through classroom observations, demonstrations, performances, assignments and class participation.
Provides constructive feedback to students and parents.
Maintains accurate records of student grades and attendance.
Collaborates with other teachers and staff to integrate music into the broader curriculum.
Participates in school events and activities.
Adheres to Board Policy, administrative rules and regulations
Participates in open houses, parent-teacher conferences, staff meetings, school sponsored activities/events and student/parent consultation.
